In 2018, the United Nations Academic Impact and Millenious Campus Network (MCN) launched the Millennium Fellowship; a semester long leadership development programme that convenes, challenges and celebrates students for UN goals.

The class of 2020 was announced on the 20th of July with a total of 1,428 Fellows being selected from 80 campuses and 20 nations.

From August, through December, Millennium Fellows will take action to make the Sustainable Development Goals and United Nations Impact a reality.

A total of 25 students have been chosen from Makerere University to take part in the Fellowship.

“Our collaboration with MCN will allow students to demonstrate how the wisdom and thought they invest in their formal curriculum can be extended to a greater purpose of common good, lending their strengths to their communities and their worlds and in turn being enriched by them,” said Ramu Damudoran, the Chief of United Nations Academic Impact.
