Over the weekend, the Miss Tourism Organizing team took a long trip to Karamoja region and made a stop at the Moroto Resort Hotel located in Moroto District. The Karamoja edition saw Racheal Akidi from Abim district emerging winner and in the position of first runner up was from Kotido and in the second runner up, aged 20 was also crowned.
The pageant is coming to an end as Busoga Region will be crowned and then send the girls to bootcamp where they will be prepared for the grand finale and how to best set themselves to face the judges because this is perhaps their most fearless stage of the competition.
Judges at the Miss Tourism regional searches and at the Grand finale usually ask different questions to check the participant’s level of understanding International and Domestic Tourism. Some questions are general knowledge.
The Karamoja winners will join other winners from regions like West Nile, Northern, Eastern, Kigezi, Rwenzori and Buganda among others. These will vie for the top crown of Miss Tourism Uganda 2024/25 and the winner will take the crown from the reigning Queen who is Ruokaya Nabukonde. Nabukonde was crowned Miss Tourism Uganda 2023/24 last year at the grand finale that took place at Kampala Serena Hotel.
