Monday 18th December was a tough blow to most University authorities as 6 were arrested at City House Building in possession of University stamps, documents, signatures and boxes of forged academic papers awaiting pickup. Most of the pictured recovered fake papers were tagged to YMCA Kampala Branch.
The 6 arrested were David Lwanga, Winnie Ssanyu, Godfrey Sseruuma, Godfrey Mbalire, Alice Nakakande and George Mugula and were taken to the Central Police Station Kampala as investigations were launched.
“We received rich information that there was a team of people forging academic documents and other important documents to undeserving people to disguise as though they attended studies and that’s why we decided to storm and make spot on arrests” said Luke Owoyesigyire the Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson.
The exhibits recovered included printers and other machines that were being used, stamps and the papers that had been printed out.
