ISBAT University will on November 12, 2025, hold its graduation ceremony at Hotel Africana, where 687 students are set to graduate — the highest number in the university’s history.
This year’s event stands out not only for the record number of Cybersecurity graduates but also for the unveiling of “Isabella,” ISBAT’s humanoid robot, which will grace the occasion and cheer the graduands. The innovation, developed by ISBAT’s engineering and artificial intelligence students, symbolizes the university’s deepening investment in research, robotics, and emerging technologies.
The Guest of Honour will be Hon. Dr. Chris Baryomunsi, the Minister of ICT and National Guidance, who is expected to commend ISBAT’s contribution to Uganda’s digital transformation agenda.
The Special Guest will be Prof. Mary J. N. Okwakol, the Executive Director of the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), while the Keynote Speaker will be Mr. George William Nyombi Thembo, the Executive Director of the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).
Nyombi Thembo is expected to highlight the importance of cybersecurity skills in building a safe and resilient digital economy, urging graduates to take an active role in shaping Uganda’s future in technology.
According to ISBAT officials, this year’s graduation reflects the university’s continued growth and its commitment to producing industry-ready graduates, particularly in critical fields like ICT, Business, Engineering, and Applied Sciences.
The ceremony will bring together government officials, education regulators, industry leaders, and families in celebration of the university’s contribution to Uganda’s human capital development.
“Our graduates are stepping into a world that is increasingly digital. Their skills, especially in cybersecurity, are essential for the protection and advancement of our national ICT infrastructure,” a university spokesperson said ahead of the event.
With cybersecurity emerging as a national priority, ISBAT University’s record numbers in this field signal both a response to the market’s demand and a reflection of Uganda’s strategic focus on building a secure digital future.
