Uganda’s Law Development Centre (LDC) has outlined a roadmap for their guild presidential election that will take place on Friday and the successful nominees have been shortlisted already.
Sources at the Kagugube based institution of law have intimated to us that one of the contenders this year, Josophine Aanyu is a cousin to controversial Arua Municipality and NRM MP Col. Ibrahim Abiriga who has hit news waves recently with his support for the removal of the age limit in the constitution and dramatic yellow outfits.
Miss Aanyu is persuing a diploma in law and our sources reveal that Hon. Abiriga is not just a cousin but is like a father to her.
“Col. Abiriga has a life. Dont think he is for just point blank”, our source revealed.
The race that has attracted a total of 6 contestants from Makerere University and Pentecostal University is one to watch as voting is on 6th October from 11 am to 6pm.
Among them are Stanley Oketcho, the former Prime Minister in Makerere’s 82nd guild and Latimah Kayondo a former guild presidential aspirant at the same university. The others are Deus Mugabe, Eric Ahimbisibwe and Kawuki Muwalana.

We contacted the former premier of the Makerere guild in a telephone interview but he declined to comment about “other contestants”.
Mr. Oketcho however told us that his experiences at Makerere last year inspired him to contest.
“I know that with constructive engagements and lobbying with the administration, set structures in the LDC will be utilised to promote students’ welfare”, he said.
Efforts to reach Miss Aanyu for a comment were futile as her number could not be reached.
