Enough is enough with the Music awards! Let’s now open our eyes and give attention to the people who make these artistes who they are; the people who risk their lives to get you the hottest campus news 24hrs at the comfort of your phone, TV set, radio, name them… I’m sure that by now you know who they are. If you don’t, I will then refer you to Sevo’s Video where he says, “Go eat your…mothers something something….”
The African Centre for Media Excellence (ACME), a nonprofit independent organization, committed to media excellence in Uganda, has set March 2016 to recognize outstanding journalists in Uganda by awarding them for the tremendous work done.
The competition is free and the entries are open to all journalists, freelance or full-time, working in Uganda with work broadcast or published between January 1st and December 31st 2015. Both the winner and first runner up of each category will receive a cash prize and a commemorative plaque and certificate.
Some of the categories include: Photojournalism, Multimedia storytelling, sports, National News and many more. In addition, their work will be celebrated at a grand gala and published online and in a booklet to be distributed by ACME.
