The acting Makerere University Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Finance and Administration was recognized with two awards at the 2018/2019 CEO Pan African Awards on Saturday.
Prof. William Bazeyo received both the Country and Regional awardS from CEO Global Executive Director, Annelize Wepener for his excellence and generosity in education and training in Africa at an event held at Protea Hotel.
The former Dean of Students of the School of Public Health under the College of Health Sciences was picked out due to his contribution to research, nurturing of innovators at Uganda’s oldest public University and his unparalleled expertise in mentorship of students.
“This award was very competitive. The vetting process was very arduous since there were many exceptional contenders. However, we finally zeroed on Prof. Bazeyo for his wide range of Knowledge and Skills in the education sector,” Annelize, the Executive Director of CEO Global commented.
The CEO Global Awards are the leading Pan African recognizers honoring various exceptional individuals in the private and public sector. The programme covers over 23 economic sectors. The audience at the ceremony on Saturday was made up of influential personalities from different countries of Africa.
Among other winners was Jennifer Musisi who won the country award under the category of Agencies and regulatory Authority.
Prof. Bazeyo will go on to complete in the continental awards that will be held in South Africa towards the end of November.
