The demonstration against removal of Age Limits from the constitution in Makerere University has been tranquilized by police as strike leaders, also FDC Makerere Chapter leaders, Wanyera Simon And Ainebyona Ronald were arrested.
Wanyera, who is a veteran activist and a self-proclaimed ‘Revolutionary Son’ was arrested together with his party president Ainebyona near Mary Stuart Hall this morning.
The boys who were leading the chants clad in black suits and red gowns, were seized by agile police officers.
It should be remembered that on Tuesday, all political parties in Makerere sat and agreed that they will demonstrate the proposal to remove term limits from the constitution, under the slogan, ‘Kogikwatako 102b’.
After the seizure of the two FDC strongholds, and a few flights of teargas canisters, the strike has paused.
