JEMMY
After weeks of working tooth and nail to master the dance moves to various cultural dances all over the country, the energetic gents and ladies of the Nakawa based university are finally ready for the d-day. As they have their annual cultural gala, tomorrow the 26th of February 2015, the MUBS fraternity has been a very busy and super crazy place today. With lorries trekking in with blue chairs and tents ahead of tomorrow’s event.
On the hand of the youthful campusers, they’ve been dancing all day long. Perfecting their dance routines and working on their closets too.
The sound of drums together with the sweet melodies of adungus (read as harps) among other traditional instruments amidst the cheers of frantic on-lookers filled the airs of the campus.
The bare grounds of the field due to the dry spell cried to God for mercy as the energetic dancers jumped up and down and stumped all over causing a cloud of dust to rise above them. And as the sun goes to sleep and some can’t wait to get to their hostels and wash off the sweat others can’t contain their excitement of having the chance to see King Oyo. A one Nampijja or Baguma is somewhere locked up in her hostel daydreaming of how she will be swept off her feet by King Oyo just like in the Disney movies. Unfortunately, sweetheart you ve got to wake up from that dream. But on a happier note, a happy cultural gala to the MUBS fraternity!! Dance your hearts away…
