The graduation ceremony that took place at Uganda Christian University (UCU), was rather an emotional one for the students that clad themselves in all sorts of attire, as they strode past the red carpet to receive their degrees.
One student was not able to. Akello Fiona did not walk, she was not clad, and yet celebrated still.
The university and the faculty of law, lost the student about a month before the graduation ceremony and chose to confer upon her the degree of the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) posthumously.
A couple of students took to social media to celebrate her.
This is the second LLB posthumorously graduation a spate of two years. Last year, another student Victoria Nakimuli was equally celebrated in the same way, in the first ever posthumous graduation for the university.
Congratulations to the graduands.
