It has not been a while since the excitement of the accreditation of the Bachelor of Laws degree by the United Kingdom Bar Standards Board sunk into the minds of many, and now comes another.
The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and Institute of Public Accountants have accredited the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program of Uganda Christian University (UCU) giving it a global recognition.
ACCA is a global professional accounting body of accountants with its headquarters in the United Kingdom. It offers the graduates a Chartered Certified Accountant status upon graduation.
Graduates from BBA program of UCU will no longer have to do 14 papers as it has always been. The accreditation means the graduates intending to become ACCA members will be exempted from taking 6 papers and rather sit 8. This is a big opportunity for the students majoring in Accounting.
The review of the UCU business curriculum and examination was conducted by the ACC examination and Accreditation team from UK until its certification.
UCU law degree also gets a nod.
It should be remembered that earlier this month, Campus Bee ran a story after a similar accreditation was made by the UK Bar Standard Board deeming the Bachelors of Law degree at UCU as being of acceptable standards.
These recent developments have excited UCU students and increased pride in their University.
