While speaking with the New Vision, a local newspaper, the Deputy Director-General of the Internal Security Organisation (ISO), Lt. Col. Emmy Katabazi clarified that Ashaba Annah, a Makerere University fresh graduate who recently penned an erotic poem on the closure of schools does not need to meet President Museveni.

According to Katabazi, Ashaba agreed to continue writing without disrespecting leaders.

“I had a chat with her and we agreed to have future engagements centered on patriotism. We also agreed that Ashaba needs to be respectful to leaders in her writings,” Katabazi told the mentioned paper.

“We agreed to continue discussing and deepen her ideological consciousness and that of her fellow youth,” Katabazi said, adding: “She does not need to meet the President. Our engagements with her are enough.”

A source at State House had informed us that Museveni was clearing his schedule to meet Ashaba but according to Katabazi, the report is untrue.

“I did realise that in our discussion which was cordial that they are not ideologically sharpened but they are receptive to ideas centered on pan-Africanism,” Katabazi added.
