Ashaba crowned Kyambogo FDC flag bearer after winning by just one vote

The Kyambogo university FDC fraternity last week on Friday held the party nominations to come up with just one candidate to represent them in the forthcoming guild presidential elections. 
Amidst tension, Ashaba Michael was crowned the FDC party flag bearer succeeding the current guild president Lawrence Lugavu who also handed over the blue key as a norm of handing over the office of FDC flag bearer Kyambogo university.In a race where 7 candidates were vying for the position,  Ashaba emerged winner after leading the race with 13 votes, followed by Sarah Kansiime with 12 votes, Namuyomba Lilian 9 votes, Ssemuju Mohamed with 7 Votes, Musoke  Arnold with 5 votes ,Eyatu James Peter with 3 votes and Nasasira Martin with 1 vote.

The elections were presided over by Lubega Hussein Kasozi a commissioner from  FDC party electoral commission.

Who is Ashaba  Michael? 

Ashaba Michael is a second-year student of Kyambogo doing a bachelor’s degree in microfinance. He hails from Bushenyi district from a family of 11- him being the third born.

Ashaba who is currently the speaker of the Association of Microfinance students Kyambogo university (AMSKYU) has attended Naalya SS Bweyogerere where he was the head prefect in his A’level, St. Kaggwa Bushenyi high school where he was the deputy head prefect in his O’level and Unique Valley Primary School, Bushenyi.
Ashaba says he loves traveling, music and says he is so much inspired by Gerald Karuhanga, the youth MP of Ntungamo District.
