Leading medical insurance company aYo has donated several relief items to the people that were affected by the Kamwokya fire. aYo’s strategy to manage risks is always to show up at the scene of such incidents with  the hope of finding some of their clients affected.

In cases of catastrophe, insurance companies are expected to be the first on the scene using their assessors. aYo however didn’t find any of their clients affected by the fire but they still managed to donate items like; mattresses, jerrycans, cups, plates, mosquito nets, blankets ,mats, timber , nails , iron sheets, among others.

While speaking at the scene, aYo’s CEO Allan Lwanga revealed that they stand with Kamwokya people who are currently affected by both the fire incident and the ongoing COVID-19 induced lockdown. According to Lwanga, aYo values every life and that is why they offer digital microinsurance solutions to help reduce financial challenges brought about by unfortunate unforeseen circumstances such as loss of life or incapacitation due to accidents.

“We stand with the people of Kyamuka zone in Kamwokya who were affected by this fire especially now during this difficult time of the covid19 pandemic. At aYo we know that every life matters and that is why we offer digital microinsurance solutions to help reduce financial challenges brought about by unfortunate unforeseen circumstances such as loss of life or incapacitation due to accidents.” Lwanga said.

“Helping our clients process claims is part of our service delivery strategy and that is why we send out our teams to such accidents scenes to identify if we have any of our clients affected. Today fortunately we have not found any of our clients affected but we have since decided to go ahead and offer a small token through our CSR strategy to settle Mrs xyz …. who’s life has been set back by this inferno.” He added.

aYo’s move has come weeks after they announced a new  insurance policy that extends double life benefit to clients lost to COVID-19. It should be recalled that aYo offers medical insurance services to all MTN subscribers. The services are one click away by dialing *296#.
