After a two-day dance festival, even the best dancer ought to leave the dance floor at some point in time and another takes on the lead. Well last weekend we witnessed the most fascinating of dances that brought down the curtains of the cultural gala at Makerere University.
The cultural gala attracted about 22 cultural groups that battled it out at the University Hall and judges do agree that choosing the finest of all was not a well to-do job.
The epic performance put up during the gala aroused wild chants and jubilation from the die-hard tribesmen who appeared to give support to their own.
The two-day Cultural Gala that was fun-filled with a deep blend of all traditional dances came to an end on Saturday with the mighty Basoga Nseete taking the crown home after showcasing what revelers termed as the performance of the night.
The Basoga Nseete were once again kings of tradition at Makerere University’s annual cultural gala 2015 at University Hall. The University administration together with the students Guild congratulated all the participants and the Basoga Nseete in particular for the victory.
The Culture Minister, Hon Mukwaya Nasser was also applauded for a great job done for putting a spirited organization of this year’s cultural gala that will go down in the records.
Meanwhile, as the celebration for the cultural gala 2015 shield winner were on, a batch of rowdy students took it to the dirty habit street and looted property from the revelers making some leave with sad demeanor written all over their faces.
If one had to pay to attend the cultural gala, then this would be worth every penny paid. Till next year, congratulations sons and daughters of the Kyabazinga.
