Last year, the Bee ran a story about how much excitement the former president of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Dr. Kizza Besigye, and Oxfam International Executive Director Winnie Byanyima (the wife) shared about the success of their son Anselm Kizza-Besigye after he was given a scholarship to study at the prestigious Harvard University.
A ceremony was later organized early this year in April at Theatre Sanders in the University to officially welcome the new students “The class of 2021”, who were accompanied by their parents.
Yesterday, (Tuesday) the couple was yet excited again as they took their son to school to report and check in to his dormitory with the rest of the students.
Dr. Besigye took to his twitter to share that the son has started school.
“Anselm begins his first day at College…” tweeted Besigye.
Byanyima too took to her twitter today morning to express how she feels now that the son has reported.
“Just moved Anselm and his boxes into Havard to start his journey to adulthood…”
She, however, did not stop at this. She also used her handle to say that some Ugandan leaders are beefing on the success of her son.
“…worried about the hate and bigotry being spewed out by leaders here,” she tweeted.
Already some elements do not think Anselm should be studying in such a prestigious institute.
Former US President, Barack Obama’s eldest daughter, Malia Obama, on Monday also checked in, with bother her parents, Barack and Michelle Obama, ending her dead year to continue with her studies.
Malia, according to USA Today, was spotted moving around the Harvard campus on Tuesday ahead of her first year at the prestigious University after spending a gap year traveling, doing internship and enjoying life as a normal citizen.
Both her Barack and Michelle Obama are Harvard Law graduates and they were, on Monday, also seen helping their eldest daughter report.
Congratulations to Anselm once again.
