Former Bishop Barham University College students under Bishop University Alumni Association (BUAA) over the weekend donated relief food items to International students stranded in Hostels.
The above international students from Rwanda and Burundi were unable to return home after H.E The President of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni ordered for the closure of all universities and other education institutions as a move to curb the spread of the novel Corona Virus (COVID-19).
The food items donated include five bunches of matooke, 80 kilos of beans, 200 kilograms of maize flour and other cutlery items.
While handing over the food items to the University, Patrick Tushabomwe, the Chairperson of BUAA said that they came to the students rescue as a way to show love and support for the University that has tried its best to support them during the COVID-19 lockdown.
Bishop Barham University College Prinicipal, Rev. Dr Medard Rugyendo applauded the alumni for taking heed of the situation in which the international students were going through saying that this showed solidarity for the University
