Bishop Stuart University (BSU) concluded its annual BSU week yesterday with inter- departmental football competitions where the winners were awarded with a bull to crown the event.
However, the students rejected this award saying that it is not worth it and is suffering from coronavirus.
These Competitions which take place annually are always organized by the Vice Chancellor, Prof Mauda Kamatenesi. But according to reports, this year’s VC trophy, as they call it was full of drama and chaos as it first started with the Agriculture supporters refusing the Penalty that was ruled against them and invading the playground but later the Guild President, Denmark Adios calmed down the students and the match continued.
The match ended with a draw at 90 minutes and went for penalty kicks where Agriculture department defeated Social work department with 5-4 goals, but the overall winner became Social work because of their great performance in other competitions including Athletics.
When we asked some of the Social Work students why they rejected the bull, they told this site that they’re tired of paying their sports fee every semester but nothing is done to improve the Sports in BSU and warned the top administrators for using the sports money for their personal businesses.
