Nakawa based higher institution of learning MUBS has this evening been bewildered by suddenness and shock when one of their own Beatrice Mudondo Diana a second year student of commerce was found dead alongside the Kataza railway route today evening.
Peter Odoki the university’s public relation’s officier has confirmed the death of one of their students but remained silent about the details of her death. He insists he has to first inquire and garner more information.
Beatrice who was found dead body bruised all over by the railway line is believed to have been assaulted and possibly raped by his assailants.
The university’s guild president, Bugingo Don Patrick when contacted about this issue remained silent but continued to confirm the deceased identity both by photo and academic credentials online.
“My visit to the MUBS police station this evening has confirmed, that our very own, Mudondo Beatrice Diana BCOM 2, has been found dead after brutal assault on her, alongside the Kataza route railway,” Patrick posted.
He continued to pass on his condolences to the affected albeit asked the student to be more vigilant and security cautious.
“This leaves us with great grief in our hearts since she had been reported missing for a while.May the Lord console the family and fellow students, as the investigations proceed,” Patrick posted on Facebook.
“This leaves a big question behind the community policing around Nakawa and MUBS at large,” Patrick added.
Students have watered social media with consoling messages while others are condemning the police for irresponsible behavior.
Dupe Petero criticized police in a post, “I am still in shock. How could this happen within metre of the police station. Our police betrayed us by abandoning the station.”
“If we had street lights or police patrols, maybe Diana would be still alive. Her life was ended on short notice; a tragedy has befallen MUBS this semester. We have now lost three students. Kitalo!”
