The newly elected member of parliament for Kyadondo East, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine has started to deliver results after only three weeks of swearing in. With the partnership with giant digital company Google, Centum and Kafeero Foundation, Bobi Wine yesterday launched a training in Kyadondo East starting with parts of Gayaza.
Today’s training was the first of many to come where young people will be tipped on how to utilize digital marketing and setting up their own businesses as well as creating jobs basically by the use of the internet. With lessons from Kafeero foundation experts, Gayaza youths will be equipped with digital skills after which successful trainees will receive an internationally recognized certificate from Google. After signing a three-year contract with google, the Kafeero foundation will expand the training to more other 21 African countries up to 2020.
Unlike in other trainings where it ends with simple seminars, the Gayaza youth will receive funding from the Kafeero foundation which will enable them to start up their own businesses as well as boost those with existing struggling businesses. The training will spread to other parts of Kyadondo following a yet to be released timetable.
There was drama at Queens country gardens when the management denied the training from happening at its premises after reportedly having a disagreement with the other parties despite being booked Wednesday evening. The training was later shifted to another venue (Fruity Jungle) where it later kicked off as Bobi Wine and wife were among the important guests.
Anxious young people were seen struggling to take selfies with the self-titled Ghetto President who only gave a chance to few lucky ones.
