A Somali student at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) identified as Ibrahim Mohamed Yusuf, has passed on following bomb blast in the country.
According to one Somali student at IUIU Abdilrizaq Abdullah Mohammed, the late Yusuf died on Saturday, 3rd April, 2021, following bomb blast in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu.
“Yes , I can confirm that we have lost our friend. The late Yusuf did his Remedial Programme (SCIENCE) during 2018/2019 academic year under the registration number 118-062061-19311,”
“The late Ibrahim Mohamed Yusuf began his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science during the 2019/2020 academic year under the registration number 119-063061-20477,” Mohammed told Campus Bee.
According to Mohammed, when universities including IUIU were closed in the wake of novel coronavirus, Yusuf went back to Somalia
“He went back to Somalia due to impromptu closure of learning institutions. Late Ibrahim Mohammed Yusuf was preparing to report back for classes soon,” Mohammed says.
IUIU has several students from over 20 English Speaking African countries including Somalia.
