80% of the UACE leavers who applied and sat for the Makerere bachelors of Laws pre-entry failed. The pre-entry exam introduced 4 years ago tests students for logic and numerical analytical skills, comprehension skills, grammar, writing skills and general knowledge.
Out of the 1496 A’level applicants only 307 raised the 50% pass mark.
Kasozi Saleh from Airforce SS Entebbe and Namilyango college’s Kimera William raised the highest mark(75%) Muhawe Ruth from Budo was the best performing female.
Under the degree holders column, a Makerere university alumnus Ssenyonyi Joel raised 70%; the best mark in that column, Mugagga Evarist from Kyambogo raised 69%.

63% of the degree holders passed, 89 of the 141 applicants.
21% of the LDC diploma holders passed just 28 of the 130 who applied through Law Development Centre diploma in law.
57% (11 of 19)of the Mature age applicants passed the paper.
In total 345 of the 1786( 24%) of all applicants passed bringing in a gross failure rate of 76%. 1786 applicants sat for the paper, the least mark scored was 19%.
