In the latest details surrounding the disputed Makerere University guild elections, The High court has this evening issued a directive to Makerere University to swear in Bazil Mwotta Biddemu as the legitimate Guild President of the hill of the learned.
In a suit filed by Bazil Biddemu Mwotta challenging Roy Ssemboga who had filed an injunction restraining the declaration and swearing in of Bazil as guild president has today had his suit overhauled.
The court has directed Makerere University council, Guild Election Petition Tribunal, Electoral Commission Makerere University that the applicant( Bazil) be declared the successful candidate of the 11th March 2016 elections held at MUK as a whole.
The court has also stopped the vote recount that was slated for today 23th March 2016 by the Electoral Commission of Makerere University.
