Makerere University Business School (MUBS) 2016/2017 guild president Joram Matovu has adamantly refused to handover power, Campus Bee exclusively reports.
The FDC incumbent was expected to handover power at the swearing in ceremony today at 4pm. He has on the contrary issued a notice alerting MUBS community of his absentia at the ceremony and unwillingness to hand over.
The president elect Awori Emmanuel’s leadership fate lies in a balance until these five issues, which Matovu has laid out, are cleared up;
1. Paying guild service providers whose money was delayed by money transfer to the guild accounts causing pressure on Jordan’s office by different stake holders.
2. Clearing pending Payment for guild activities.
3. Upholding the guild presidential travel culture with an opportunity given to the out going cabinet.
4. Paying guild legal and financial advisors.
5. Involving the guild executive in the handover ceremony planning whose unfavorable date was discussed with the Dean of Students on 15th of this month but no action was taken.
According to the issued statment, until these issues are tackled by the Administration, the former guild president says he won’t be handing over to the newly elected UYD’s Awori.
These very antagonizing issues were tabled before the Dean of students during the meeting held on the 15th but they unfortunately were left hanging in dead space.
