Makerere University board has today decided to officially suspend the lecturer who allegedly raped a student. Prof Bakuneta who is accused of raping a first year student has been relieved of his duties as lecturer at the hill of the learned in a formal communication sounded by Prof. Ddumba Ssentamu Makerere University Vice-Chancellor.
The decision comes in a week after the lecturer was remanded to Luzira maximum prison pending his next hearing. The board has indefinitely suspended Prof Bakuneta pending his summon to the disciplinary committee of Makerere University.
A source confirms to this website that the decision was unanimously made by everyone on the board and a formal communication awaits the disgruntled lecturer.
