Makerere University has lost another student in a space of weeks. James Uwimpuhwe a second year student at the oldest university in Uganda has passed on this evening after drowning in a swimming pool.
Uwimpuhwe, a second year student of Arts in Arts, drowned in the university swimming pool this evening after he attempted to undertake underwater swimming without clear supervision.

The student lost his life even though attempts by live savers to reclaim his life were initiated. According to a condolence message from the Vice Chancellor Prof Barnabas Nawangwe, he died on the way to the hospital.
