The much awaited Red Monday at Makerere is on as students strive to see that academic year 2016/17 is kick-started as soon as possible.
This comes after Makerere University postponed the commencing of semester one until further notice. The angry students have been preparing for Red Monday since last week- even amidst the heavy police deployment at the University.
“We have to walk to parliament and get the opportunity to speak to the Minister of Education because our cause is a justified one.
We have been pushed to the option we wouldn’t have loved to take because MAK is for the Alumni, our sons so and daughters, so we will stand to fight for it,” said acting guild President Jothan Burubuto when addressing students before the match to parliament.
