Makerere University Non-teaching staff have this morning taken to defiance to protest the delayed payment of their arrears in a no-showing up to work strike.
The Non-teaching staff have today refused to show up at work and taken to a sit-down, lay tools down strike which has seen most colleges and faculties closed for the great part of the morning.
‘Early Birds'(students) showed up at their respective colleges to kick-start their lectures and also prepare for the forthcoming examinations but were shocked to see their lecture rooms locked only to realize that a strike was in the brewing.
By 8pm colleges CIT & CEDAT were under lock down as non teaching staff refuse to open in protest of delayed payments.
This is a developing story and more details to follow….
