Following the President’s directive to officially open Makerere University ‘with immediate effect’ , the University council has agreed to officially continue with the first semester, today at 6PM such that no more time is wasted.
In a letter accessed by Campus bee from Eng. Dr. Charles Wana-Etyem the chairperson Makerere University council, the committee having satisfied itself with the patriotic act of members of the Makerere University Academic Staff Association (MUASA) has directed council to take immediate steps to re-open the university.
The Chairperson on behalf of Makerere university has announced the immediate opening of the university and asked staff to immediately resume work.
Makerere University that was closed on 1st November on a directive by the President will resume operations starting today.
Students will however report on Monday 2nd, January 2017 to resume studies before sitting for the exams in February.
The graduation for the finalists that was slated for early January has been scheduled for March 2017
