The military, as we speak, is currently engaged in running battles with students of Makerere University after the former raided the students again in their halls of residence and in the neighboring Kikoni.
After talks between management and the students were botched, the angry students declared that their stand against tuition would remain unaffected and they announced the continuation of the strike, through their guild president.
In the evening, they set out to mobilize their colleagues to come out in big numbers tomorrow which prompted the military to raid their places of residence again in an effort to suppress their attempts.
The military raided Lumumba Hall. Mitchell and all Kikoni hostels tracing any gatherings of students that may be involved in organisation of a strike on Tuesday. The military once again beat up unsuspecting students and reigned terror on the students for their attempts to organise strikes.
