#MukStrikes
When it comes to striking, you gotta give it up to the Makerere University students.
Students who stay in Nkrumah and Nsibirwa halls are currently on a mini-strike following a day-long power blackout that has prevented them from revising for their end of semester examinations.
Some of the students claim that they have papers tomorrow but the power blackout which has plunged the university into darkness has rendered them helpless in the face of the impending papers. Even the main library which usually has a generator is closed due to the blackout.
It is understood that the tumultuous students have in anger invaded the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEMA) which has a generator and sent packing other students who were found reading from there.
Muk’s end of semester examination period which officially started on 30th November and is expected to end on 20th December had until now been ongoing without any incident, save for a few voices that have complained about the massive deployment of police around examination centres.
