Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST) has voted a female guild president after a very long time. Mariam Iculet Arikosi has been declared winner after beating 4 men for the highly coveted position.
National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer John Jonnes Bwengye came in a close second without enough votes to be declared winner in the election, just like his president Bobi Wine.
Others like Mutungisa Edgar, Isiko Mande and Ruhinda Wilson followed in that order.
Miss Arikosi is from the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Gender and Applied Women Health. She is currently in her third year.
Ms Arikosi got 708, Mr. Bwengye got 559, Mutungisa polled 470, Mr. Isiko had 425 while Ruhinda managed only 145.
