The Law Development Centre (LDC) has released results of the 2018/2019 pre-entry examinations.
According to an admission list released by the Centre, at least 659 lawyers qualified for admission to the bar course.
Notably so, there is a sharp decrease in the number of students admitted as compared to last year.
Last year at least 1,797 candidates sat for the exam and 814 of them passed and were admitted.
However this year, even after promises of increasing admission after the directive by government to open up country campuses, the admission sharply declined as compared to last year.
The Law Development Centre (LDC) was established by the LDC Act of 1970 and is charged with among others legal training of LL.B Degree holders in what is otherwise known as the Bar Course.
The training takes nine months before one is fully enrolled as an advocate of the courts of judicature.
Also, two of our own staff here at Campus Bee in the names of Saasi Marvin Augustine and Joel Francis Osekeny from Makerere University and Uganda Christian University (UCU) managed to ace the pre-entry exam and were duly admitted.
We congratulate all the successful students and wish them all the best in the terms ahead.
