University students under the Nkobazambogo cultural groups that brings together Buganda students in various universities have today morning taken to the streets of Bulange Mengo the headquarters of Buganda Kingdom striking over the suing of the Kabaka by renowned businessman Mabirizi over land.
The students allege that what city lawyer Mabirizi did of suing the Kabaka is very wrong and demand that he withdraws the charges against the kabaka and further apologizes. The students also state that the Buganda Land board and Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga are the rightful people that should be sued by Mabirizi because they are the ones that handle all Buganda affairs and not the Kabaka.
The students are currently raising placards at Bulange Mengo demanding that the Buganda Land Board officials and the Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga step forward and own the matter instead of soiling the Kabaka’s name.
Businessman Male Mabirizi Kiwanuka early last month,dragged His Highness the Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi to court over land a move that angered the students from various universities under the Nkobazambogo movement.
