Makerere University hill was today, Monday February 7, painted with red gowns and police attire as students and law enforcers flooded the university corners.
The Police cordoned off and arrested students at Makerere who were protesting against the university’s blended system of teaching. The university VC Prof Nawangwe came out yesterday through his social media to detest the leadership of Shamim Nambassa and group. (Read more)
The students argue that the university should be fully reopened for all students since the economy was. Students accuse management of taking advantage of the Covid-19 pandemic to ‘extort’ the learners.
