In a press release dated Monday, the Uganda Police Force (UPF) made it clear that murders of young female girls are on a rise and every female must take it upon themselves to avoid strangers especially in bars. Young girls especially campus girls love free drinks at the bar from random men.
According to Police intelligence, there is an organized group of people who pursue these young girls especially to different bars with the intention of harming them. At the bars, the girls are given a lot of free drinks and are later lured to lodges or their places of residence where they are raped and strangled from.
The press release also mentions that four of the young women found dead at Nansana Town Council have been identified and their relatives have been traced. Many of the victims remain unidentified. Nine suspects have so far been arrested in connection to these murders while intelligence operations carried out have led to the arrest of about 98 people on various charges including being found in possession of canabis.
In the same tone, UPF urge the public to report any useful information in relation to these murder incidents to the nearest Police station. Police also further cautions young girls who frequent bars to be on the lookout for suspicious people, report them to the police and to avoid moving out late alone to avoid being targeted and murdered in the end.
