The eve of Independence Day left a land mark on many students from Buganda region commonly known as the Karuma crossers in Gulu University. With all the pride engraved in their minds and exhibited in that majestic walking style it was a sure deal of a win.
In the cultural gala festival that took place on Sunday at Gulu University, the strong team of “BAGANDA NKOBAZAMBOGO” emerged winners after a show of unrelenting performance that left all jaws dribbing and yearning for more. It was a massive eye catching moment that left us wondering whether the Cherubim had descended to planet earth. Not forgetting the Kiganda dance that had a lot of gusto. It was like the ladies had no waist bones to an extent that they left the Dean Of Students speechless. He did ask in awe, “are those our students or????”
In Gulu, the gala is a big deal of a competition. Winning the cultural gala red marks your association as the King of the jungle and you own the entire university for that whole year. It is something that comes with a lot of pride as you now get everyone relating to the winning association. I have to say, for the guys it increases your chances of getting babes. The noise made when announcing the winners is just enough to rile up the bees in the opponent’s nest. The Buganda anthem was sung several times just like in the recent parliamentary sitting when the age-limit motion was to be tabled.
However, literally there were 3 teams competing i.e. Baganda, Acholi and Basoga out of the 19 cultures while the others participate. Here are the best. The results of the competing teams were as follows.
Baganda Nkobazambogo 271
Basoga Nseete 261
Acholi 251
