MBALE: James Watuyo, Guild President, Bugema University (Mbale campus) last week lost his tuition to a betting firm. He is one of the victims that lost money when Arsenal Vs Manchester United game ended in a nil nil draw. This is not the first time that Watuyo has lost his tuition in such tricky games. Sources say he is a regular in betting centers around and a prominent bettor of sorts in Mbale town. This Guild President is a Manchester United diehard, “Despte the fact the Man U is off form this season, he still goes on to place a bet in favour of the team. He seems to believes in this team more than Ferguson does.” a close friend to the guild says before adding that he always bets 50% of his tuition with a hope of multiplying it. Campusbee has also learned that the Watuyo’s performance in class is dwindling which caused an alarm to the administration to find out the cause of the guilds failure. On learning that it’s attributed to betting, the university director was prompted to call an abrupt assembly on Sunday, she warned the students who are involved in betting to stop the vice or else action will be taken on the culprits.
