Following a directive from the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) that universities should remain closed for another three months while conducting online lectures, BusitemaUniversity has announced virtual orientation for their first year students.
According to a document issued by the university’s Academic Registrar Dr. Gimuguni Lilian Nabaasa, the university maintains 1st February as their reporting date for freshers but it will not be physical as earlier communicated.
Dr. Nabaasa has advised students to acquire laptops and smartphones for smooth online lectures expected to kick off on Monday.
The university has vowed to share zoom links to various online lectures via email as they gear up for full force online studies.
“All students are advised to acquire necessary equipment like laptops or smartphones. Students are advised to load data for the three orientation days starting Wednesday 03/01/2021.” Part of Dr. Nabaasa’s letter reads.
Ahead of their face to face examinations expected to kick off on 9th February, Busitema continuing students are currently studying virtually inline with the university calendar that was issued earlier on. Campus Bee has learnt that Busitema finalists finished their exams and are awaiting graduation.
