Busitema University Secretary to Council, Matsiko Abert Mutungwire has confirmed the appointment of Dr Saphina Biira as the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor.
“Following the decision by the 59th Busitema University Council sitting held on the 30th September 2022 and Pursuant to section 32(4) of the Universities and Other Tertiary Institutions Act, 2001 (as amended) this release is to notify you that council appointed Dr Saphina Biira as the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) for a period of 6 months with effect from Monday 3rd October 2022,” Mr. Mutungwire communicated.
Dr Saphina Biira has been the Deputy Director, Directorate of Quality Assurance, a Senior Lecturer of Physics and a member of University senate and its committees.
She as well sits on a number of university development committees and was once a council member representing academic staff.
Dr Biira holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Monitoring and Evaluation, Uganda Management Institute, PhD in Physics (Materials Science & Nuclear Technology) University of Pretoria, South Africa, Master of Science (Physics). Makerere University. BSc. Education (Maths & Physics) Gulu University and a Diploma in Secondary Education (Kyambogo University) and a series of Management Training.
