It was a somber mood on Friday in Katungu Cell in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality as the fallen Busitema University lecturer, Dr Angella Karooro was buried.
The deceased passed away on Tuesday May 30, after she suffered what has been identified as blood clot.
She was a lecturer under the department of physics at the faculty of science and education at the institution based in eastern Uganda.
Speaking at the funeral, Prof Emmanuel Karooro who is the father to the deceased described how he received the shocking news of his daughter’s death.
“I didn’t know what to do. I told my driver to take me to Bweranyangi Cathedral; I sat alone in one of the corners and cried,” he said.
Other friends and family described the late as someone who was a strong believer and God-fearing. She was also described as someone who avoided seeking a lot of attention in whatever she did.
“She grew up very well, always in the background, never wanted to be in the limelight. A leader who wanted peace, a uniting factor in our family but above all, loved God. She was a true definition of a born-again Christian,” the deceased’s mother, Dorah Karooro described her demised daughter.
According to the University, the late Angella Karooro specialized in solar energy at PhD level after she joined Busitema as an assistant lecturer.
May her soul continue resting in peace.
