Last week, a quasi violent strike broke out in Busitema University, as students demonstrated against the reduction of project fee fromshs450, 000 to shs350, 0000. This money is availed to the students for to buy materials and stationery meant for designing and constructing final year projects. The students held a strike because they feel this money is not enough. As a result, the university was closed till November 3.
As sure as light follows day, some unfortunate 22 students have been identified out of the many that participated in acts of lawlessness and are set to meet the disciplinary committee on October 29. The university has a code of conduct under which students are expected to live by.
When a student reports to university, they are admitted in individual capacity. Students seek to act as a mob, mobs don’t reason.
The 22 students who we shall soon bring to you and the cases that they are charged with are in the spotlight and are most likely to be dismissed by the university.
