Busitema university fraternity is mourning the death of its beloved student Kelly Tumusiime who passsed on at Mbale referral hospital where he was battling injuries from a gun shot.
Kelly Tumusiime, a first year medical student pursuing a bachelor of science in anaesthesia succumbed to injuries sustained from a gun shot on Saturday morning 12th February 2022. According to close sources, the deceased was shot by a security guard at around 4am in the morning.
Kelly (RIP) was rushed to Mbale referral hospital in short of blood and prior to his death, a campaign was being run calling upon blood donors (group A- and O-) to run to his rescue. The Bee came to learn of his untimely death hours later.
Busitema university Mbale medical school penned down a heartfelt condolence message on their Facebook page in memory of the deceased.
“Today, Busitema university faculty of health has lost a member. A student by name of Tumusiime Kelly, first year, bachelor of science in Anaesthesia. He was managed at Mbale RRH for the whole day till he met his death, despite all. All the medical help, physical and psychological support at Regional Referral Hospital could give wasn’t withstanding,” part of the post reads.
The Uganda National Students Association has condemned the shooting at a student by the security guard that claimed Kelly’s life.
“As Uganda National Student Association, we condemn this act by security operatives and we send our dear condolences to his family and friends,” the students’ body said in a post.
By the time of publication, Mbale police hadn’t come out to issue a statement on the allegations of one of its own being the cause to this rather unfortunate death of Busitema’s first year student Kelly Tumusiime.
