A recent graduate from Busitema University is currently under fire on social media after sharing provocative photos from the #COP28UAE event. The Conference of the Parties (COP) is a critical international summit addressing climate change, and the United Arabs Emirates in Dubai is hosting this year’s edition.
Linda Evelyn Pretty (as she prefers to be called), who graduated from Busitema University with a Bachelor of science in Water Resources Engineering, attended the prestigious climate change conference but drew attention for all the wrong reasons. Instead of focusing on the environmental discussions and solutions presented at #COP28UAE, the graduate opted to post explicit and raunchy photos on her X (formerly Twitter) social media platform.
The controversial images quickly went viral, sparking outrage and criticism from fellow attendees, social media users, and environmental activists alike. Many expressed disappointment that such behavior detracts from the serious global issues being discussed at the conference.
“The people we sent to speak about climate change,” one of her followers commented in dismay.
Several users condemned the graduate’s actions, emphasizing the need for respect and appropriate conduct, especially in professional and international settings like COP events. Others called for consequences, citing the potential harm to the individual’s reputation and the university’s image.
