Busitema University Set to Host 14th Graduation Ceremony

Busitema University is buzzing with anticipation as it prepares to host its 14th Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, March 28th, 2024. The event will kick off at 8:00 a.m. at the Gymnasium, located on the Busitema Campus in Busia District.

Led by the Chairperson of the Convocation, Eng. Musinguzi Badru, the Busitema convocation is gearing up for its annual convocation week known as BU-CWEEK, 2024. This week-long celebration promises a mix of activities designed to instill love and pride in the university among its alumni and current students alike.

Hon. JC Muyingo, Minister of State for Higher Education, will grace the occasion as the esteemed Chief Guest, adding a touch of honor to the ceremony.

The convocation’s top priorities are clear—to work hand-in-hand with the university to provide students with an exceptional university experience. This includes a focus on academics, welfare, career advancement, and the realization of their dreams. To achieve these goals, the convocation engages in various initiatives such as resource mobilization, policy advocacy, mentorship programs, career fairs, and support for research and innovation.

Dr. Lilian Gimuguni, the Academic Registrar, assures all stakeholders of a colorful event and emphasizes that the quality of graduands is assured. The Busitema University community eagerly awaits this momentous occasion, where students will mark the culmination of their academic journey. It promises to be a day filled with pride, celebration, and the beginning of new chapters for the graduating class of 2024.

Important Details:

  1. Graduation List: The provisional Graduation list can be accessed on the University Website (www.busitema.ac.ug).
  2. Graduation Ceremony: All Graduands are invited to attend the ceremony along with two parents/guardians. Graduands should be seated by 8:00 a.m. Graduation booklets will be distributed at the venue.
  3. Graduation Fees: Graduands are required to pay Graduation fees of UGX 200,000 plus bank charges in two separate payments:
    • General Collection Account: UGX 170,000. Follow the steps provided on zeepay.busitema.ac.ug to generate a Zeepay Reference Number for payment.
    • Busitema University Convocation Account: UGX 30,000. Payment to be made at Centenary Bank using the following details:
      • Bank: Centenary Bank
      • Account Name: Busitema University Convocation Account
      • Account Number: 3100049057
      • Branch: Tororo
  4. Invitation Cards: Graduands can collect their invitation cards from the office of the Academic Registrar starting from Monday, March 18, 2024. Required documents for collection include:
    • Proof of payment of Graduation and Convocation fees.
    • Proof of payment for Graduation gown.
    • Fully endorsed clearance form.
    • Financial Statement from the Finance department.
    • Evidence of clearing NCHE fees of 20,000/= per academic year for all years of study.
