In a significant development for both Busitema University and the broader Eastern Uganda community, plans are underway to establish the Uganda Railway Institute at the university’s premises.
The initiative, stemming from a recent cabinet decision, aims to bolster vocational training and enhance skills development in the region, with a particular focus on the railway sector.
Led by the Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, Prof Paul Waako, a delegation from the university convened today, April 16, 2024 with officials from the Ministry of Works and Transport to discuss the operationalization of this pivotal project.
The meeting, chaired by the ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Mr. Bageya Waiswa, signified a collaborative effort to translate the cabinet decision into tangible action.
