Students of Busoga University have taken to the streets of Iganga to protest the manner in which lecturers and the University administration is not taking their education serious.
For a while now, students have not been having lectures at Campus after lecturers at Busoga University decided to lay down their tools after succumbing to a total eight months without salary. The Busoga based lecturers decided to lay down their tools and never step into a lecture room to give out course works and lectures until they receive their pay.
Furious, students today took to the streets of Iganga to protest what they termed as ‘seriousness’ and ‘negligence’ by the administration and the lecturers.
The students decry this and call upon the admin to have these grievances settled or they will keep striking.
By today morning, roads along Iganga highway closed and businesses paralyzed as Busoga University Students striked over the matter.
