It was a blistering hot afternoon when the old boys and old girls from Ntare and Bweranyangi respectively began their journey. The trek of their journey began from Makerere, MUBS, Kyambogo and Nkozi. For a long time, nobody had ever seen such a doozy reunion that carried two buses to the two schools leaving no sit empty. It clocked 6pm and we arrived in Ntare.
Unfortunately, we were not welcomed as expected. We waited at the lion’s statue for over 20 minutes without even a single soul showing care about our puzzled state on the campus. Eventually we got help from the MUST organisers that came to our rescue and led us to the sickbay where most of us slept, although some decided to branch home and the rest to MUST.
The sun disappeared from the heavy clouds and after supper, it was prep time. We decided to storm their classes with excitement and vibrancy. The little boys were happy to see us and most especially to sit next to the old girls whose overwhelming beauty caused disorganization. A lot funny experiences were shared amongst the old students, most especially the celebs of the school like uncle Mugudu and Ebony currently studying from Makerere and MUBS respectively.
Vegas was another spot that made the old students get jiggy with their moves in the famous roof top club, the favourite in the Mbarara neighbourhood so far. That was part of the agenda too btw. Following day was a friendly match between the Bwerantare community and students of Ntare and the Bwerantare community were winners.
Sunday was the last day of the reunion so the last destination was Bweranyangi girls. The Egrets felt proud to be home again after having been warmly welcomed by some of the staff members, a different treatment of hospitality that was shown to the old students compared to Ntare school.
Good news arrived in the staffroom that we would have breakfast first and then do house inspection, introduce ourselves to the students and have a debate then entertainment. It was obvious some of us were going to leave the school with extra 2kgs added.
