As reported earlier, Bwowe Ivan is Makerere University 80th Guild President. He overwhelmingly won with a difference of over 5,000 votes, a sign of undisputed clear victory. Democratic Party’sAseru Sarah came second with 1,376 votes whereas NRM’s Musiime Phillip garnered 972 votes. Forum for Democratic Change’s Aber Lillian got 901 votes, a number that is less than her pinned posters. A rough estimate shows that Aber has over 1,500 posters pinned around campus. She never manage to garner votes equivalent to the blue posters pinned allover the campus. Aber has however conceded defeat and has taken to her facebook page to congratulate the new president elect, Bwowe Ivan. Below is Aber’s message:
Thank you my friends and all who believed in me. I find it necessary to thank you because your faith in me has been the fuel that has driven me and kept me going this entire campaign period. The thousands of messages I received, smiles we shared while I asked for your support, prayers offered for me, and any other support you gave in small significant ways. I have just conveyed my congratulations to HE Ivan Bwowe but also his supporters and campaign team deserve congratulatio…ns for the resilience. I wish the upcoming government success as the coming times shall be trying but a man as honorable as my colleague shall ably handle this I trust. I thank my campaign team for standing with me despite the ridicule they received from friends and colleagues. Surely no amount of thanks can express my gratitude. I leave this experience a winner because I have found true friendship and been enriched as an individual and taught me a lot of things I shall profit from for ever.Till next we meet in the corridors of leadership, I remain Aber Lillian and our dream shall live on forever for we have to be the change Uganda needs. Gods blessings upon you.
