A man only identified as Solongo, resident of Ku Garage at Kasenyi stage, Abayita Ababiri along Entebbe Road died on Wednesday moments after sipping Torrero, a new outrageous alcoholic drink accustomed to university students lately.
According to eyewitnesses, Salongo dropped dead after drowning in three bottles of the mentioned drink.
Locals have further disclosed that the deceased was given three bottles of the popular Torrero drink at one of the local ‘kafunda’ (bar) near Dembe Pub and lodge which he finished as colleagues cheered on him.
Salongo is then said to have slipped a bit after walking away from the kafunda to only topple 70 metres from the drinking spot.
“He fell down and a man who was passing by helped him sit while leaning on a stall by the path but moments later we realized he was lying flat and upon checking he had passed out,” one of the eyewitnesses narrated.
The police, who haven’t secured Salongo’s postmortem report are yet to release a statement regarding his death.
